This section is intended for all Fondee clients who invest and need information about their tax obligations related to investing.
Income from investing with Fondee is taxed as income from capital assets or other income, depending on the type of income (sale of ETFs, dividends). At the beginning of each year, Fondee prepares tax documents for you that contain all the necessary information for filing your tax return.

Income from selling ETFs is taxed as other income under Section 10 of the Income Tax Act. The tax base is the difference between the sale price and the purchase price. The tax rate is 15%. An exemption may apply if the time test (3 years from purchase) or value test (income up to CZK 100,000 per year) is met.
Dividends received from ETFs are taxed as capital income under Section 8 of the Income Tax Act. The tax rate is 15%. Dividends are included in the tax base in the year they are credited to your investment account.
The tax return for 2025 must be filed by 1 April 2026 in paper form, or by 2 May 2026 if filed electronically. If you have a tax advisor, the deadline is extended to 1 July 2026.
You can file your tax return electronically via the MOJE daně portal (mojedane.cz), through your data mailbox, or via your tax advisor. The electronic filing deadline is 2 May 2026 for the 2025 tax year.
